Taiwan gas leak explosion
The #explosions went off around midnight Thursday and early Friday, causing roads to collapse.
Kaohsiung Mayor, Chen Chu, said it was the island’s worst gas leak explosion in recent decades. The blasts affected a three-square-kilometer area.
Local firefighting authorities said gas leaks were reported in the city’s Cianjhen district at around 8:46 p.m. Thursday. Local officials said the gas was identified as propene. The cause of the leak is still under investigation.
Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou has urged relevant authorities to help with the rescue, according to his office’s spokeswoman Ma Wei-kuo.

Anonymous asked: I don't understand the point of throwing something so dangerous as a Produnova and you have no chance of making the podium. You have girls throwing less dangerous vaults who medal.
It’s a funding thing. Countries won’t send gymnasts to international competitions if they have no chance at success. An event final at Worlds is success. Her bronze today will be huge for India’s gymnastics program, so Dipa and her coaches and their federation consider it worth the risk. Also, doing the Produnova will get you talked about, no matter how good or bad it is. No press is bad press, and all that. Pena will probably never medal at Worlds but she’s one of the most well-known international gymnasts…certainly more well-known than Sofi Gomez, who has a gorgeous beam routine yet it’s just not difficult enough to allow her to contend with top nations.
